One hundred years ago, Sam Loyd showed how to dissect a Greek cross to a square.

The Greek cross is one of the twelve pentominoes and the square is one of the five tetrominoes.

So there are seventeen of these "polyominoes".

Is it possible to find a small set of puzzle pieces that can make all seventeen of them, in the style of Loyd's dissection?

This was the subject of Donald Bell's presentation at the Gathering for Gardner in Atlanta, usually referred to as G4G13
